Invisalign

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign has been used for many years to correct smiles without the bulk of metal wiring and brackets. The system uses a series of clear trays, known as aligners. These aligners apply pressure to the teeth, pushing them into more uniformed alignment. You can utilize Invisalign if your teeth are crowded, crooked, unevenly spaced, or if you have an under or overbite.

Why is Invisalign needed?

You might need Invisalign treatment if you’re unhappy with your smile and have a variety of orthodontic problems. Invisalign is able to treat crowding, uneven spacing, and crooked teeth. This improves not only the look of your smile, but it makes brushing and flossing your teeth easier and more effective. With a straighter smile, you can benefit from a fuller and healthier smile for life. Invisalign is clear in nature, so no one but you and the dental team will know you’re even wearing the aligners.

Excellent dentists! Both Dr. Palacio and Dr. Glastein are very professional and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

Who is a good candidate for Invisalign?

Invisalign is best suited for teens and adults who can commit to treatment. The aligners themselves are removable and should be taken out when eating or brushing your teeth. It is necessary to put the aligners back in after you’ve eaten or brushed in order for treatment to be effective. You will need to wear your Invisalign aligners for at least 22 hours every day.

What happens during Invisalign treatment?

Treatment begins with a consultation to determine if you’re a candidate for Invisalign and the best course of action to take when straightening your smile. Impressions are used to create your first set of aligners, which you’ll need to wear for most of the day and night. You will then need to come back in to have new Invisalign trays made every few weeks. Invisalign treatment can take anywhere from a few months to several years depending on how severe your orthodontic problems actually are. Invisalign is a great way to inconspicuously straighten your smile.
